123holiday.co.uk staff have just returned from the an amazing holiday in Cyprus at the Atlantica Oasis Limassol Cyprus. In fact we thought the place was such good value for money we needed to share it with everyone.
So why was Atlantica Oasis Hotel so good?
After flying with TUI from Birmingham we arrived at around midnight, and found the Zeta Bar still open and cold sandwiches and drinks available in the AGORA restaurant, not unusual you might say, but after coming to Cyprus before and not being able to get a cold drink or a cup of tea when you arrive is a pain. So Well done to Atlantica Oasis Limassol Cyprus for that – a good start.
The room was adequate for our needs, (bags taken up by a porter) – a nice comfy Queen size bed and water in the room, complete with a mini fridge that worked.
Whilst on the holiday we had the choice to visit an al a carte for the evening, but chose the BBQ night.
The food during the stay was nice and hot, with plenty of variety every day, and yes they have chips, but not nasty French fries, proper chips. They also have a big selection for breakfast and the eggs are nice and rich, done to your taste, along with omelettes and crepes. Dinner selection includes salads and a variety of mains, plus a good selection of childrens food. Evening meal is the same with a selection of Cypriot food on offer. In the dining hall at breakfast, you get your own tea, coffee or juice. But at lunch and dinner you have waiter or waitress service, and I have to say a special thank you to Antonios ( hope I got your name right ) a very friendly Manager at the hotel, in fact all the waiters were just great and very polite, nothing is too much trouble for these members of staff.
There are 1 indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools and a pirate ship at the hotel, although we stayed in the adults only zone for the peace and quiet, each of the pools has its own pool bar, and the adults only zone pool bar is manned 5 days a week during the day by Andreas, again I hope I got his name correct, he is very friendly and makes the drinks just how you want them. A word of advice though – the adults only pool gets a lot of sun on the comfortable loungers adjacent to the Zeta bar window all day long and its easy to burn, so remember to take your suntan lotion. The pool is very shallow but nice and quiet.
During the evening the area around the adults only zone also becomes the entertainment area, again with waiter and waitress service for drinks, with live acts including magicians and bands.
A special mention also has to go to Demitris (sure I have spelt it wrong), this gentleman is the Bars Manager and does the most amazing cocktails and smoothies during the morning, my favourite was the pineapple. He is typical of the people of Cyprus, friendly and willing to chat to anyone, even the wife (shame).
If you need anything whilst at the hotel they have the normal TUI and First choice reps, or for anything to do with the hotel the desk next to TUI reps is run by Chloe ( I know I got this name right) who is from Liverpool, and is so bubbly and friendly – another of the amazing members of staff who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.
Would I go back again – definitely
We have enjoyed the holiday so much we will be putting a full page up on this website within the coming weeks. The only downside (if you can call it a downside) is that the kettle for hire is charged locally by the hotel, so take a travel kettle.
